The urgent requirements of individuals who have been compelled to leave their homes abruptly have resulted in a heightened demand for accommodations, sustenance, water, and medical assistance. To address the situation in earthquake-affected regions, a minimum of 300,000 blankets, 24,712 beds, and 19,722 tents have been dispatched.
Extreme winter weather is impacting rescue efforts. Aftershocks are also a potential hazard — at least 125 measuring 4.0 or greater have occurred since the 7.8 magnitude quake struck southern Turkey.
We are working closely with local aid groups and government agencies to identify priority areas where relief can be provided most effectively. We also has a presence in refugee camps throughout the region, providing essential relief supplies such as food, water and medical aid.
